WHAT IS LAKESHORE HP?

Lakeshore HP is a three-tier program consisting of tryouts, an individual skills camp and selection to our Lakeshore HP travel teams.   Through these programs, we are charged and committed to select, develop, and help support athletes who will represent the Lakeshore Region with the ultimate objective of winning medals at the USAV National High Performance Championships and other national and international competitions if the opportunity should arise.

To take part in Lakeshore Region High Performance, you must be a current member of the Lakeshore Region. One day memberships will be available at the tryout for $5 for athletes who are not current members. If selected, these memberships can be upgraded to full junior memberships for the camp.

Our Lakeshore HP experience is 3-tier and includes:

From tryouts, select players will be invited to attend the Lakeshore HP TrainingCamp  which provides an exceptional experience for all of our attending athletes. Athletes will train alongside the Regions' best athletes...by a high caliber coaching staff.

Also from our training camp, our Lakeshore travel teams will be selected. Those selected will compete at the USAV HP Championships (in 2020 it will be in Pittsburgh, PA). We are extremely proud of our history, our competitiveness and our affiliation with the National HP pipeline.

Recent program Alumni:  Maddy

Here is a brief explanation of the training opportunities for each age group:

Girls Youth and Select National Team (GYNT--birth years 2004-2005) and Girls Select (GSEL--birth years 2006 and 2007): Players who want to be part of the Lakeshore HP program must attend an HP tryout. From the tryouts, the HP staff will select ~20 players in each age group to attend the HP Camp, June 12-14, 2020 (Davenport University). At the HP Camp, ~10 players in each age group will be selected to compete on the HP travel team at the USAV HP National Championships in July.

*Future Select (FSEL--birth years 2008-2009):  2020 will be the 4th year Lakeshore will take a team to HP Championships in this division.  We have partnered with multiple regions to assure quality teams in this age division.

Women's Junior National Team (WJNT--birth years 2002-2003): Lakeshore will offer a camp for this age group and evaluate whether a team can be made for this event.  If you're a JNT age athlete and are interested in opportunities, please attend a tryout.

Boys: Any male athlete who desires to be part of the Lakeshore HP program must attend an HP tryout. From the tryouts, the HP staff evaluate players for placement at the June training camp (current numbers indicate that all BOYS who would like to attend HP Camp, may--the tryouts are simply for placement at camp.) At the HP Camp, ~10 players will be selected to play on the Lakeshore HP travel team, and compete at the USAV HP National Championships in Pittsburgh, PA in July.  The roster can be comprised of any boy born 2001 or after.  Again, Lakeshore region staff will make a determination after tryouts if there are enough male athletes to field a competitive team for HP Championships.
